Program Description:
The Community Support & Nutrition Program (CSNP) is a multi-component health impact program that includes: Nutrition Education Programming, Monthly Health Screenings, Grocery Assistance and Home Delivery. We treat every person seeking assistance with kindness, respect, and dignity. Our programs are free to all those who need our services for as long as those services are needed, and are patron driven.
Nutrition Education Programs:
Lunch & Learn Series: Instructors from the UNC-G Recipe for Success program engage patrons in a lively series. While preparing lunch, instructors and participants discuss topics (suggested by participants) that may include: quick/healthy meals and snacks; how food impacts diabetes, high cholesterol, heart conditions, high blood pressure; eating healthy on a budget; active living; and using seasonings. Container Gardening Series: Master Gardeners from the Co-Operative Extension join participants in a hands on series. During the "classroom" portion of the series, participants learn everything from seeds to harvest. Participants will help plant vegetables that will be grown by the CSNP and then given to patrons in the grocery program. Upon successful completion of the "classroom" portion, participants will receive the supplies they need to begin their own garden at their home. Monthly Health Screenings:
The CSNP Outreach Services Coordinator provides monthly health screenings and case management to CSNP patrons who are predisposed to diabetes, hypertension, or obesity. Screenings include blood glucose, blood pressure, weight, and overall health checks. The Outreach Services Coordinator works directly with patrons to help them improve their health and well-being. Grocery Assistance:
The CSNP has distribution sites in both Greater Greensboro and Greater High Point. Patrons enjoy a self-choice shopping experience at all locations. On December 1, 2020, the CSNP began offering shoppers the opportunity to order groceries online and/or onsite through a real time inventory system. The CSNP is the only program to offer this service to our community. On October 20, 2021, the CSNP Market opened for in-person shopping at our Merritt Dr. location. This site is set up as a grocery store and will have other local agencies on site to assist with wrap-around services.
Home Delivery:
Patrons with disabilities and/or transportation barriers, may be eligible for our monthly delivery program. This program component is volunteer driven with routes throughout Guilford County.
Program Goals:
The CSNP addresses the critical Guilford County issue of food hardship in efforts to reduce the cycle of poverty by providing grocery assistance, and educational and informative nutrition support services. We strive to help our patrons become self sustaining through our programs.
Program Locations & Schedule:
Greensboro: Definition Church, 1806 Merritt Drive (in the building behind the main building)
Online order pick up: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 9:30am-2:15pm
In Person Shopping: Wednesday 12pm-7pm, Friday 11am-2pm, and Saturday 9am-12pm
High Point: St. Stephen AME Zion Church, 1012 Leonard Avenue
Online order pick up: 2nd & 3rd Friday of each month from 11:00am-2:00pm

Susan Cox
CSNP Program Director
Originally from Middleburg, VA, I moved to NC to attend Elon University where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. After graduating, I stayed in NC to pursue a career in service to others.
I joined One Step Further in July 2015 as Program Director of the CSNP. I am a passionate advocate for families and individuals. Because of my desire to see families rise from their current situations, I currently serve as Chair of the Agency Advisory Council for Second Harvest Food Bank of NWNC (SHFB), and as Board Treasurer for the Share the Harvest organization. I am a past Board Member of SHFB and past SHFB Delegate to Feeding the Carolina's State Association of Food Banks.
When I am not working or volunteering, I enjoy reading and completing home improvement projects. I also spend as much time with my beautiful daughter as possible.
Joey Rudzinski
Program Assistant
Joseph Rudzinski, or Just Joey, is a graduate of the prestigious Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Clown College, Class of 1990. He holds an M.F.A., Master of Fun Arts degree and has been entertaining for over 40 years. He likes drumming and models. Joey will also never turn down a free vegan cupcake.
Joey began volunteering with the CSNP in 2014 as part of the "muscle crew" to unload food trucks. He accepted and began his current role in October 2019.
Richeda "Moe" Roberts
CSNP Outreach Services Coordinator
Born and raised in Passaic, NJ, I am the mother of three and grandmother of one. With a degree in Human Services and a background in the medical field, my passion is helping people of all ages and ethnicities. I love spending time with my friends and family, and also enjoy sports (Go Giants!), traveling and trying new things. But my favorite thing is spending every spare moment loving on my children and grandchild.
