WHAT IS LIFE SKILLS? Click here to print this page ___Life Skills provides classes for undisciplined, delinquent or at-risk youth ages 8 to 17. Cirriculum topics include self-awareness, anger management, developing effective communication skills, conflict resolution, peer pressure, health and wellness, goal setting and job readiness. Each class is separated by age. Junior Life Skills classes are for juveniles ages 8-13 and Senior Life Skills classes are for juveniles age 14-17.
___Juveniles referred to Life Skills are required to attend a 5-week class. Each class is led by a highly qualified instructor and covers topics to help juveniles better deal with peer pressure and help them identify methods to make better life choices. Instructors use student workbooks, audio-visual materials, role-playing and guest speakers. Classes are held after school or on Saturdays in Greensboro and High Point. WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?
WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR THIS PROGRAM? ___Life
Skills takes
community referrals. Additionally, referrals come from juvenile court
counselors, judges, law enforcement officers, school officials, school
resorce officers (SROs), and the Guilford County Teen Court
program. IS THERE A FEE? ___No.
Life Skills is free to the public.
